For the sake of many one badling should be sacrificed

For the sake of a clan one man should be sacrificed

For the sake of a village one clan should be sacrificed

For the sake of a country a village should be sacrificed

For the sake of self-realization whole world should be sacrificed

[Krishna's advice to Kuru elders i.e Bhishma, Drona, Dhritarashtra to sacrifice Duryodhana, Karna, Dushasana for the sake of rest of the kauravas. He advises that kauravas should capture these and submit them to Yudhishtira if the kauravas want to avoid the war that is going happen]

In the fourth line, krishna advices yogis to give up the attachment to the worldly objects in order to attain higher realizations
